Cryogenic Pumps and Systems

We work with a specialty service partner to fully service all the main MRI systems; OMT, Siemens, Toshiba and GE. On-site service includes cold exchange of the cold head in the cryogenic MRI system and exchange of the adsorbers in the compressor unit.

In addition, we offer support for all types of cryogenic systems including Leybold, CTI, Sumitomo, Balzers and APD. We provide on-site or in house preventative maintenance and repair/refurbishment of cold heads and compressors. An example of typical preventative maintenance service is shown below.

Preventative Maintenance of Cryogenic Pumps and Compressors

  1. Replacing the displacers in the cold heads
    Setting up a helium purging and filling array
    Disconnecting the supply lines from the cold heads
    Opening the cold heads and removing the inner parts
    Pressure relief for the cold heads
    Removing the motor units
    Checking the control valves
    Removing the guide bushings
    Removing the displacer and cleaning the cold head casings
    Reassembling the cold heads
    Installing new displacers
    Installing the guide bushings
    Installing the motor units
    Restarting
    Evacuating the cold heads
    Purging and filling the cold heads with helium
    Start-up
  2. Replacing the charcoal adsorbers in the compressor units
  3. Purging and filling with helium
    Purging and filling the compressor with helium
    Adding helium to the compressor units
    Purging and filling the cold heads with helium
